About me
Hello, I'm Rob Barnes and I'm a professional musician based in the UK.
My musical history started when I played the recorder in primary school. I started playing at the age of six.
I was the only student to take music as an option at the age of fifteen so I had to teach myself music until the final year when a teacher was given to take the exams. However, I needed a second instrument to take the exams I'd had a classical guitar from the age of eight but had concentrated on woodwind instruments. So I took up classical guitar. Then I left school to continue playing guitar and formed a band. That band was called "September Sun."
I performed in various bands one being "Dust." From which point I'd realized my potential and went back to collage and studied music.
With double distinction grades and grade eight guitar I decided to become a professional musician and I now perform with "Cold Flame," teach guitar/music privately, I'm a Session Musician and I assist at "The Shed Studios."
As well as being a Jethro Tull Tribute band, Cold Flame perform many genres such as Rock, Blues and Folk.
When I'm not performing with Cold Flame, The group of musicians I perform with are known as "The Rob Barnes Band."
"The Rob Barnes Band" came about because of the interest shown by some venues and promoters in having "Cold Flame" perform covers. "The Rob Barnes Band" play Rock and Blues; partly original material or covers from the 60's to the present day.
